BIOMETHANE PLANT

Tube Green

The Tube Green biomethane plant will produce 100.000 MWh of biomethane per year. This amount would be enough to supply 110.000 people in Lithuania with gas throughout the year or take care of 26% of the country’s gas-powered transport needs. Tube Green is one of the largest power plants in Europe in terms of production capacity.

About the project

The biomethane production project is being implemented by Tube Green together with bioethanol and biogas producer Kurana. The project’s investments amount to €15 million, partly financed by the Climate Change Programme. Tube Green biomethane plant has been connected to the Lithuanian gas transmission network in cooperation with the Lithuanian gas transmission system operator Amber Grid and is already supplying biomethane to the system.
